Read about the retribution and blacklisting she dealt with for complaining. Now imagine not even being a cop, not having the badge and confidence and friends in the force and access to systems to submit complaints, and trying to report abuse by an officer.
And these are the people you're supposed to ask to protect you from violence and harassment.
Downtown Living in Ottawa and Naked Neighbours

I've been living in Ottawa for the past 2-3 years and recently the condo across from my condo has been completed and people have started to move into the unit.
My computer is set-up against my window which allows me to see into the units across. I noticed the girl across from my unit changes without pulling down her roller shades at night which doesn't leave much to imagination. Her back is to the window so I don't think she realizes she is flashing everyone in our building. It's happened twice in the last 4 days. To be honest, I find it a bit hard not to stare and was thinking of putting up a sign saying "We can see you". However, I know in New York this is a common occurrence so I was wondering if this was common in Ottawa too?
Edit: seems like it’s a common occurrence so case solved - would you say anything if they were masturbating or engaging in coitus?

Yes, it is fairly common for people in this city to remove their clothes prior to putting on new ones.
Exposed brick open concept loft style apartments in Ottawa

You know in the movies, the artist always lives in those big open concept lofts with high ceilings and exposed brick? Have you ever seen one of these for rent in Ottawa? I've been in one once on the Quebec side and of course a photographer lived there. I would love to rent a place like that. Does anyone know where such a unit exists?

They exist and seem to fall in to two categories - a place that is poorly built and poorly insulated and is going to suck in the summer heat and winter cold OR a newer & very expensive place where it's been done for aesthetic reasons and you'll have to pay a premium for it. Actually you may pay a premium on either option! Make sure to look carefully and ask questions if thinking about the first option!

COVID-19 Alert App : has anyone been “exposed”?

Looking to hear if anyone has gotten word via the new Covid-19 Alert app that they got exposure to the virus? I’m curious to hear how accurate/fast and informative the app is working.

The app would require the person that was infected to self report into the app...its only been out for 3 days and we've had less than 60 confirmed cases in those 3 days and less than 5% of Ontarians are using the app....
TLDR; it'll be awhile before there is a 'hit'
